You'll be introduced to the fundamentals of the creative processes inherent to artistic expression and practice, learning to generate ideas in an organized and practical way through different methods and strategies to develop creativity at a practical level.
Foundations of Creativity

You'll learn to capture reality and express it through drawing and its various traditional and digital techniques, applying different methodologies while acquiring the ability to convey visual thought in a two-dimensional space by mastering the concepts of form structure.
Artistic Drawing

You will participate in graphic projects using applications and tools based on raster and vector graphics.
Digital Image Processing

You'll learn the language of color: its characteristics, light, and pigments, as well as its nature and effects. You'll learn to create different color combinations until you achieve the perfect expression.
Color Theory

You will master the appropriate technology for creating real-time visual effects, as well as the main graphics engine tools to create both simple and complex effects.

You will establish the fundamentals of photographic imagery by learning to use digital photography tools and techniques.

You will learn to project three-dimensional elements using professional 3D modeling tools and technologies.
Foundations of 3D Design

You will be able to understand visual and audiovisual production within the cultural industries by approaching the subject from the theoretical foundations of artistic creation, design in audiovisual visual media, and the analysis of communication phenomena and processes.
History and Visual Culture

You will address the main areas of knowledge taught in the first course in an integrated manner by completing a project consisting of a basic visual piece. You will apply tools and methodologies for project management and development in all phases, from planning and managing deadlines, resources, and materials to production and quality assessment.
Project Laboratory I: Visual Effects Design
Semester 1: 30 ects

You will learn to design and develop graphic projects using applications and tools based on editing digital images and raster graphics.
Vector Design

You will learn the principles of marketing and their application in digital media, as well as integrated communication, developing plans and strategies for the development of products and services within the creative industries.
Digital Marketing and Applied Communication

You'll take a step forward in the 3D design you learned in the previous course, acquiring complex knowledge to generate objects and spaces in a 3D environment. You'll acquire sufficient criteria to correctly assign attributes to surfaces created through 3D modeling, as well as understand the principles of lighting and its various applications in 3D animation.
3D Design I

You will delve into the aesthetic and narrative aspects of lighting in an audiovisual production, the signifiers and importance and distribution of film and narrative space, scene composition, as well as other technical aspects: lighting techniques, exposure, and color adjustments.
Photography, Lighting and Composition

You will learn to master the conceptual tools and techniques necessary for narrative previsualization using storyboarding, addressing shot composition, frame length, and the scene's point of view, among other elements, as well as the dramatic and narrative significance of the choice within the context and time of the story.

Semester 2: 30 ects

You will establish the fundamentals and technical applications of 3D digital modeling and sculpting, with knowledge of the main current digital modeling tools for high-poly organic models, in addition to applying traditional sculpting methods to the creation of high-poly 3D models.
Digital Sculpture

You'll develop skills related to the visual representation of surfaces, textures, and shaders in 3D and CGI models, as well as the adaptation of color and light to represent a specific visual sensation in different graphics engines. You'll also gain in-depth knowledge of the tools needed to render materials and textures and to add dynamic effects in real time.
Lighting and materials in real time

By creating a real-time visual piece, you'll apply the knowledge acquired during the second course. This will allow you to study and create a VFX pipeline, concepts of VFX project direction and management, as well as principles of team, communication, market, client, and product management, as well as familiarize yourself with aspects related to the financial structure of audiovisual companies.

These are teachings oriented toward respect for and the promotion of human rights, the values inherent to a culture of peace and democracy, and the principles of equality and solidarity, with a special focus on the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
Ethical, human and personal options training I
Semester 1: 30 ects

You will learn the technical processes required to manage and operate composition and post-production programs using nodes based on prior planning. You will be able to organize materials and understand formats, as well as use audiovisual editing techniques to convey the different messages required by each production to your target audience.
Composition and Postproduction I

You'll master the creation of visual effects with particles, as well as the different physics systems of fractures and collisions, using the various professional software necessary.
VFX: Particles and dynamics

You'll learn how to create volumetric effects such as smoke, fog, and similar using various professional software.
VFX: Volumetric Effects

You'll learn to address the challenges that arise when trying to articulate any object or character that needs to be animated, taking into account the structure, anatomy, physics, and animation principles you want to apply. Through the skeleton-based animation technique, where each part of the structure becomes a fundamental element for the control, movement, and deformation of characters or mechanical objects, you'll develop the artistic possibilities of the tools, in addition to providing technical training.
3D Animation and Rigging

You will understand audiovisual language and narrative to comprehend audiovisual stories. You will develop the skills to create morphological elements of audiovisual language, such as shot types and camera movements, as well as narrative resources, in addition to film criticism and analysis. You will be able to create editing and staging elements, such as lighting, art direction, sounds, and soundtracks.

You'll learn the appropriate technology for creating real-time visual effects, as well as how to use the main graphics engine tools to create both simple and complex effects, primarily particle and volumetric effects.
Real-Time VFX

By developing a real-time virtual production project, you will apply the knowledge acquired during the second course, allowing you to deepen your understanding and application of production and dissemination techniques and processes in their various phases from the perspective of the organization and management of technical, human, and budgetary resources. You will learn the nature and characteristics of funding sources, intellectual property, trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
Project Lab III: Composition, Visual Effects, and Interactive Environment
Semester 1: 30 ects

You'll delve into the role the Production department plays in the creation of an audiovisual work, learning the areas and decisions that must be made regarding visual content and in the development and management of the product, right through to its distribution and final exploitation.

You will advance in VFX development and composition, such as creating complex atmospheric systems, creating crowds, and handling complex fluids.
Elective 2. Advanced VFX

You will gain an in-depth understanding of the processes for visualizing ideas and the artistic pre-production of graphic projects.
Elective 3. Pre-production and Applied Visual Development

You will expand your knowledge of technical and artistic concepts related to your 3D modeling training, mastering techniques for creating organic characters, modular creation for environments, and solid surface creation.

You'll expand your knowledge with advanced 3D clothing and fabric creation and animation techniques, pattern making to simulate fabrics on any 3D element, and hair systems on 3D elements, as well as physical properties and animation systems.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
It is not necessary to have a Bachelor of Arts degree to study a university degree at Voxel School. Enrollment is available from any branch of the Baccalaureate program.
Our admissions process officially begins in September and ends in June, or until we have places available. We recommend that you reserve your place as soon as possible to ensure the admissions process can begin, as our degrees have a limited number of places and are in high demand.
Voxel School does not require a specific grade point average from students. We evaluate candidates based on their talent and interest in the digital arts, as well as the results of our own admissions tests. Remember that you will need to have passed the EVaU (Evaluation of the University's Degree Program) to be admitted, as these are university-level courses.
You can apply after taking a test to verify that you meet the required level.
We always recommend that you attend this admissions interview. We want to get to know you, your concerns, and learn more about you so we can ensure we meet your expectations and that you have chosen the programs that truly match your abilities and skills.
Once you have made your reservation and taken the admission tests, we will notify you of your admission within a maximum of one week.
You don't need to prepare for them. This isn't a knowledge test, but rather a skills test, so you can't just study any material to get a good score. We recommend you come calm and confident.

Yes, Voxel School is a private university college affiliated with the prestigious University of Deusto whose teachings are verified official degrees.
To enroll at Voxel School you must meet the same entry requirements established for any Spanish university (set nationally by the State and included in Royal Decree 412/2014, of June 6): Selectividad / Higher Vocational Training (CFGS) / Entrance exam for those over 25, 40 or 45 years of age.
